It used to be a collection of several small communities. Then in the 1990’s, due to aggressive land acquisition by the city of Kelowna, the municipality of Lake Country was born. Since then, this semi rural region has seen new developments of condos and single family homes. Lake Country BC Real Estate are typically a bit less expensive than that in Kelowna, despite the fact that the political boundary of the two runs right through the southernmost part of Lake Country in the town of Winfield. But you are just far enough out of the city to not live in the city; you get to enjoy the semi-rural atmosphere of a small resort type town.
